Jenna's Birthday Party

We celebrated Jenna's 4th birthday with a few of her little girly friends. Technically her birthday isn't until tomorrow when we will do a family party, but you can't have a birthday without friends, right?!  Jenna requested a mermaid theme and I was happy to oblige. It was pretty casual and laid back with the girls swimming and having fun outside. We had a fish pond and shared lots of yummy goodies. The jello oranges were a hit with the little girls, but maybe too much work for me to do again. The cake was a lot of fun to make. The frosting technique is supposed to look like mermaid scales and was pretty easy with the inside colors coordinating with the theme colors: purple, blue, green and pink. It probably took me 1-2 hours to make, not including baking time. Jenna has spent the last day just wrapped up in her new toys. Thanks so much to all her friends for being so generous. We had a ton of fun. Can't wait until tomorrow!
