Trimming the Tree

We put the Christmas tree up a little earlier than normal this year. We had to do it on a day where I felt good enough and had a least a little energy. Thanks to Blaine who took the reins and kept the kids under control. We give each of the kids an ornament each year representing something they did or enjoyed that past year. It is always fun for each of them put up their ornaments and talk about why they received that one. They are most careful with their own and pick out of special place on the tree. (not that they stay there.) It is always fun to bring in the Christmas spirit.

Leia turns 2

Our little Leia is growing up and isn't so little anymore. She is now a two year old and you know what comes with that. We are a little sad to see our toddler go, but excited about the future. She is so much fun with a great personality. She is quick to smile and laugh, run and hide, read books and has the cutest laugh. Leia loves shoes.. hers as well as mine. She loves to play outside and ride bikes. She is small and petite but can talk really well. She is a good sleeper and a so so eater. She isn't afraid to hold her own with her siblings and enjoys going to nursery. We love our little Le Le!

Halloween 2012

We all had a great Halloween this year. We were able to participate in our community Halloween carnival and then, of course, trick or treating. Jace finally decided on a pirate and we were able to whip out his costume pretty quickly, Jenna was a fairy, and Leia was whatever fit her in the costume box. This year was a puppy, although she wasn't too happy about it. People kept calling her a little boy at the carnival so Blaine had the ingenious idea to put ribbons on her ears and that seemed to do the trick. We all had a great time and enjoyed some cool, but nice weather.

Annnouncing #4

We are happy to announce another addition to our family. Baby Hamblin #4 will makes it debut in June. We are all excited-- especially the kids who are hoping for a brother, but would be happy with another sister too. As for myself-- I will be happier when this first trimester is over. :)

Mom's BD & some Fall Fun

We celebrated my birthday in the very best way-- quiet, low profile and with pumpkin pie! Hmmmm...my favorite. It is starting to become just another year and feels like any other day. We will save the birthday magic for the kids. Here's to 31 years!!
We also had some fall fun at a pumpkin patch in Logan this year. Poor Jace had to cope with his cast on, but he didn't let that slow him down. Jace and Jenna really loved the hay bale forts while Leia enjoyed the scenery. We liked picking out our own pumpkins and planning for what carvings we were going to do. I do love fall!

Jenna: Preschool

The most anticipated day of the summer is finally here. Jenna has been so excited for preschool and counting down the days. Her teacher is Ms. Nicole (same as Jace) and she is great. She also is in the same class as her friend Kinlee and is busy making lots of new friends. So the hair is done, new clothes are clean, and princess backpack is ready. Lets get this show on the road. Have a great year JJ!! We love you.

Jace: 1st Grade

I thought this day would never come, but finally a child in school all day!! Jace is loving 1st grade and was so excited to start. He loves his teacher, Mrs. Haramoto, and is doing really well. Having the summer off didn't seem to affect him too much and he is remembering things quickly. Jace is reading and writing well and is learning something new everyday. He only has a couple kids in his class that he already knew so he has been busy making a lot of new friends. Getting back in the groove was a little difficult for us though- we missed the bus the 1st day of school..............and then again the 3rd day, but we are getting it. Slowly but surely we are getting it. Have a great year Jacer!! We love you.

Is this kid excited or what!?

Soccer

Jace wanted to try soccer this fall. Of all the sports, this is the one I don't know anything about, but fortunately he has a good coach and some familiar faces on his team. He is doing great and seems to be enjoying it. We will need to work a little more on his skills and the rules, but overall it has been a good experience. I must admit, it is much quicker paced and more entertaining than T-ball.

Box Elder County Fair

We always look forward to fair time-- it seems the perfect way to close the summer and get ready for fall. We enjoyed our fair this year by attending the parade, rodeo, carnival, and can't forget the fair food. It is always such a fun time with late bed times and dirtier than normal kids. But oh so unforgettable.

Brigham City Temple Open House

We were able to visit the temple for the open house. We were all very excited and have been anticipating this for a long time. Blaine and I were ushers the week before and had already walked through it, but taking the kids was a wonderful experience. Jace especially was excited. When asked what their favorite part was:
Jace: riding the bus, the kids room, chandeliers
Jenna: the pretty, sparkly lights
on the bus

I think he's excited
