The Primary gave all the kids some pumpkins seeds to nurture until the ward garden was ready. Even though it was touch and go there for awhile, Jace's pumpkin finally sprouted with only a few days to spare. He was really good about watering it and putting it in the sun, so you can imagine his distress when nothing happened. I was seriously considering finding a replacement somewhere and doing the ol' switch a roo, but luckily it came up. He was so careful with it and finally the day came to plant it in the ward garden. After all that, the stem broke while planting. We didn't tell him, but we went back to water it a few times and it was definitely a goner. Suddenly one day there was a good size pumpkin plant there with his name on it. That wonderful Primary presidency, the wonderful little sneaks.
